there is a lot of rust in antifreeze. had ever thing changed but heater core. they say it wont do no good to change it, because of all the rust. do you think it would hurt to pour draino in to unclog heater core. i have spent over 1,200.00 dollars on this and still have no heat help.

Your core is fried, and Drano will eat the hoses and corrode the the fins in the radiator. Basically, eat away your cooling system.

use proper flush following the directions...what yr is it.. u may need new radiator...just keep flushing....it will clean out
puta new heater core on it and keep on flushing it until it comes out clear.
DONT PUT DRAINO IN IT UNLESS YOU WANT A NEW MOTOR OR NEW HEADS!
i wouldn't use a drain cleaner on it,that may damage the seal in the water pump,you can remove the heater hoses and back flush it,run the water from a hose through it backwards that will open it up,id also check my heater valve and make sure its working right ,1200 bucks and no heater id be a getting a little aggravated at it by now,it shouldn't still have the rusty look though especially and it been flushed out real good,try running water from a hose backwards through the heater core and see if that helps it,good luck with it.
Have coolant system flushed with heater core by-passed. Then replace heater core. Otherwise you will be circulated contaminants through the new core. Also make sure thermistat is not stuck open. NO to Drano.
Buy A New Heating Core ...Plus Once Anything Metal Has Rust On It ......It will Keep Spreading Untill You Cut It Out And Replace It With New .....
Maybe heater control valve rusted shut. Try adding some stop rust also.
DO NOTuse drano change the thermostat, make sure that the heater hoses were connected to the proper outlets in the proper sequence, one hose thats flushing backwards will fail to feed the heater. lubricate the linkage from the dashknobs to the valve in the heater, make sure that it is opening and closing properly in the heater core, put a good quality lube/antifreeze mix in there to remove the rust
